Health Promotion Department
IHC's Health Promotion Department provides culturally specific outreach, education, and prevention services along with resources to empower community members towards a path of healthy lifestyle practices and wellness. HPD works with tribes and partners to support community-specific solutions and reduce the impact of untreated mental health conditions. To achieve this goal, HPD develops and provides services grounded in native traditions; promoting the early identification of individuals at risk; and engaging elders to increase connections between youth and their heritage. With an emphasis on resilience and recovery, HPD strives to reduce the stigma associated with asking for help and accessing mental health services.
Offering hope, honoring present strength, and encouraging future possibilities, HPD helps individuals lead healthier, more fulfilling lives. HPD connects with others by collaborating internally with IHC departments, with multiple agencies, with community members, and through social media platforms.
