Art BINGO Night

Bingo Night

On Thursday January 22nd, REZolution hosted an Art BINGO night for the community.

The night started off with some music, mingling and creating colorful bingo cards.  The event officially began with an introduction to REZolution objectives and description about how we are encouraging everyone to use self-expression through art and community events. Justin Rodriguez said the opening blessing with a mix of Luiseno, Kumeyaay, Cupeno, and English. A few special guest speakers such as Eliee Connolly from Generation Indigenous spoke about their upcoming WE THRIVE workshops and Melissa Villa invited community to complete her survey for CHERISH (cervical HPV education resources for indigenous sacred health).

Bingo lasted a whole hour, but each round consisted of different patterns such as layer cake, crazy L, diagonal and all-time favorite BLACK OUT.  All the prizes were won throughout the hour of playing with the community.

BINGO prizes included:

-Rock painting art kit

-Pin maker

-Sketch book + Markers

-Travel water painting kit

-Native coffee + mug

-Native written books

-Lilac Goat milk lotion set

-BINGO self-care kits

The different prizes were all related to art or culture in some way.

Bingo Emcee was Larisa Yarber, REZolution’s Community Engagement Representative, who followed along with a bingo website. Throughout the numbers, Larisa made lighthearted jokes and answered any questions, while also repeating any numbers that were missed. At the end of the event, all our nearly 20 bingo prizes were won! Thank you for joining us and starting the New Year with some family fun!
