Know the signs. Save a life. Suicide warning signs aren't always easy to recognize but knowing what to look for can make a life-saving difference. If you notice changes in yourself or someone you care about--such as withdrawing from loved ones, feeling hopeless, increased substance use, or talking about wanting to die--don't ignore them. In our tribal communities, checking in with one another is an act of strength and care. A simple conversation, a listening ear, or encouraging someone to seek help can make all the difference.

If you or someone you know is experiencing emotional distress or mental health challenges, call, text, or chat 988 for free and confidential support 24/7, or call 760-749-1410 Option 4 to connect with Indian Health Council's Behavioral Health Department (Monday-Friday, 8:00AM-6:30PM).
